Are You Called to be a SVdP Volunteer?

The St. William Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul welcomes all who wish to live their faith by loving and serving the poor. Dedicated Vincentians are needed to visit families in need in their home, assisting them with their spiritual and physical needs.

Vincentians grow in their faith by seeing Christ in the faces of the poor; as He tells us, when we serve the least of His brethern we serve Him.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul aspires to "embrace the world in a network of charity*."

Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Vincentians) are people who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. We are young and old. Our members come in every shade of skin color. Some of us are wealthy, some are financially poor, but all of us are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need.

The St. William Conference of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless

Vincentians participate in National Walk for the Poor

The SVdP Conference wishes to like thank St William Cub Scout Pack 345 , Parishioners and the Knights of Columbus for the great success of the August Scouting for Food drive.

The Cub Scouts collected and donated more than 430 pounds of Food to the St Vincent de Paul Society food pantry. This amount of food will permit us to assist more than 20 additional hungry families in September!

Members of the St. Vincent Council lined up early on the morning of September 10 to "Walk for the Poor" in concert with SVdP conferences throughout the United States.

In addition to raising funds to support the charitable works of the Society, the walk emphasizes the admonition of St. Vincent to serve as the voice of the poor--speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.
